Robot Design Team

"I bet Einstein turned himself all sorts of colors before he invented the lightbulb."
- Homer J. Simpson

The Stony Brook Robot Design Team was founded in November of 1996. The original team consisted of a core of 6 people. Those six individuals created the walking robot DAVID, which competed in the 1997 Walking Robot Decathlon.

Last year the team had grown to about 10 people. Composed of about an even numbers of returning members and new blood. The robot was named Rogue and was more agile, more accurate, and more robust than its predecessor.

This year's team is composed of about 20 people. Although the number of members have doubled so has our range of study including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, material science, and mathematics. The same design and overall idea will be used in this year's robot named RogueII with some additions to the previous design.

We welcome you to our web page and hope you enjoy your stay.
